Q. What is Sound Bridge?
Sound Bridge is a utility program for your computer that lets you compile custom samples, programs, and sequences to be loaded into your synth from a compatible PCMCIA sound card. All you need is a computer, a serial cable connected to the serial port of your QS series keyboard and the serial port of your computer (usually the modem or printer port) plus an 8 meg PCMCIA card. There’s a Sound Bridge Manual on the included CD-ROM.
Q. How do I save a Program or Mix to a PCMCIA Card?
Q. How do I Play a Sequence that’s on the PCMCIA Card?
You can play a sequence in either Mix or Program mode. To start a sequence from the front panel of the keyboard do the following.
For example if you wanted to play sequence 12 on the card you would press and hold the MIX or PROGRAM button then press the 10 numeric button, then press the 2 numeric button to complete the selection.
Q. How many Sequences can a sound card hold?
A sound card will hold a maximum of 50 sequences. If you have a QS7 or QS8 you have two sound card slots so you can have 100 sequences. Sequences on card A will be numbered 00-49, sequences on card B will be numbered 50-99.
Q. I am getting modulation from the Mod Wheel but it is all the way down, what is wrong and how do I fix this?
There is nothing wrong with the unit, you probably just initialized it without the Mod Wheel being all the way down. If the Mod Wheel is not all the way down when re-initializing the zero position of the wheel will be incorrect. To fix this make sure the Mod Wheel is all the way down, then turn the unit off and follow the re-initializing procedure above.
